Here's my first all hand made worsted yarn. It's natural colored shetland spun in a 2-ply. As mentioned before, I used my hand combs for the prep.

The Pleasure of Combed Wool

Just Love and Happiness
No fleece activity to report. I keep looking at the purple roving in the basket by my spinning wheel, but looking at it wont turn it into yarn. But that's OK, I've been happy with work. Busy and happy.
For the last 4 1/2 weeks I have been eating a RAW FOOD DIET. Vegetables, fruits, and nuts. I have had the occasional raw dairy food, like raw cheese, and I still have a cup of coffee every morning. I don't really know what I weighed before I started, but I think I've lost about 8 lbs. And I started this whole thing as a post-holiday weight loss deal, but now I feel awesome and I'm not interested in stopping. The biggest change is that I no longer drink diet coke! Now it sounds yucky. Anyhoo...
My sweetheart gave me a box of raspberries and macadamia nuts yesterday. Obviously, he loves me.

My Other Life
I never talk about my other life---the stuff I do besides working with fiber. Well, my other life has taken over and I haven't done a thing with wool since my last post. I'm moving my midwifery clinic to a new location and I'll have a little free-standing birth center here in Helena. So I've been spending money on a giant tub, electrician, furniture, bedding, medical equipment, etc. By April 1st the new clinic should be up and running. Plug: www.helenamidwife.com
That is why I have not posted on my blog for so long. Today I made myself pull some batts into roving and spin a skein. I'm going to start a little knitting project tonight also. I need something to work on in case I have a long birth to attend.
